Private equity firms and venture capitalists invested heavily in healthcare and healthcare technology companies in the year 2019. According to available data, investment grew by 16.3 percent in 2019 to $3.62 billion. Most of these investments were in the healthcare domain. The investment is still taking place despite the economic slowdown, and it is continuing to remain the same in 2020 also. Healthcare tech companies have been the major beneficiaries of these surge in investments with 55 deals worth $2.12 billion. This was double the deal signed in the year 2018. One thing to notice here is that this surge is despite an economic slowdown in the country.
